Recap: Heuvelton Central Bulldogs vs. Massena Raiders

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Heuvelton Central Bulldogs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with a 66-59 win over Massena. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Massena lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Colin Patterson, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Patterson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Mitchell, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Heuvelton Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Massena, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heuvelton Central will play host again and welcome Edwards-Knox, where tip off is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Edwards-Knox is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Massena, they will be playing at home against Canton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canton will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
