Preview: Atwater Falcons vs. Central Valley Hawks
The Atwater Falcons will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Central Valley Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Atwater will be strutting in after a victory while Central Valley will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Atwater beat Golden Valley 35-29.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Atwater to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jesus Avila, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Avila's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards. Another player making a difference was Ali Banks jr, who rushed for 58 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 51-6, which was the final score in Central Valley's tilt against Patterson on Thursday. It was the first time this season that Central Valley let down their fans at home.
Atwater now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Central Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Atwater came out on top in a nail-biter against Central Valley in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, sneaking past 23-20. Does Atwater have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
