Baseball Recap: Greenhills Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Greenhills waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Huron River Rats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 on Saturday.

Greenhills let Talen Pilz and Jeremiah Bowman run wild. Pilz went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Bowman went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Liam Pilz also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Greenhills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Huron only posted a batting average of .192.

Greenhills' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Huron, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Greenhills and Huron will both be playing Lincoln the next time they take the field. The Gryphons will head out to face the Railsplitters at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the River Rats will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
