For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Ithaca and Valley Lutheran meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Yellowjackets' pitcher stepped up to hand the Chargers a 5-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Yellowjackets: when they faced off against the Chargers last Friday, they had to take a 8-3 loss.

The result came thanks to Brady Paradise's shutout, as he gave up just four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Connor McMurphy, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted over his last ten games. Landon Bratschi was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Ithaca's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Valley Lutheran, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.

Ithaca will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
