Meanwhile, Fulton suffered their closest loss since September 16, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Marquette by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Hornets couldn't push the score so high this time.
Layla Underwood was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and a triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Begemann, who went 2-for-2 with an RBI.
