Volleyball Preview: St. Lucy's Regents vs. Chino Hills Huskies

St. Lucy and Chino Hills are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2018, but not for long. The St. Lucy's Regents will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Chino Hills Huskies at 6:00 p.m. St. Lucy's is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

St. Lucy's came up short against Upland on Wednesday, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-18, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Chino Hills unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Etiwanda.

While Chino Hills had to take the loss, they sure made a game of it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 16-25, 25-20, 25-16.

The losing side was boosted by Celine Yang, who had six digs and two aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted eight or more in the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.

Even though they lost, Chino Hills was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2023.

St. Lucy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Chino Hills, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.
