Softball Recap: Blaine Comes Up Short

Blaine lost against Mt. Baker back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Borderites lost 17-3 to the Mountaineers. The Borderites have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Blaine saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shaylie Daniels, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Daniels' first of the season.

Blaine's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Mt. Baker, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Blaine will head out on the road to square off against Burlington-Edison at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Borderites surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mt. Baker, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nooksack Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
