Volleyball Recap: Habersham Central's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After a string of six wins, Habersham Central's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Habersham Central took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 25-10.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emberlyn Casebolt, who had 15 digs. Those 15 digs gave Casebolt a new career-high.

Habersham Central's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

Coming up, Habersham Central will head out on the road to take on Lumpkin County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, they will face off against Asheville School (Independent) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
