Softball Recap: Carbondale Area Chargers vs. Montrose Meteors

Carbondale Area extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 4-10 in the process. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 14-0 to the Montrose Meteors, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Meteors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in April.

As for Montrose, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5. The result was nothing new for the Meteors, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

For Montrose's part, Jocelyn Traver was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Traver was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kyleise Kublo was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
