Basketball Recap: Richland County Comes Up Short

Richland County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 60-51 to the Jersey Panthers. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Jersey had a senior duo take command as Jaxon Brunaugh went 13 of 20 on his way to 31 points and John Paul Vogel dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brunaugh has scored all season.

Richland County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Jersey, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11.

Richland County and Roxana will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jersey, they and Carlyle will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday without much rest having both just played.
