Softball Preview: Willows Honkers vs. Live Oak Lions
Willows is 9-1 against Live Oak since April of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Willows Honkers will head out on the road to take on the Live Oak Lions at 4:00 p.m. Willows is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Things were looking good for Willows after they put the first points on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 15-8 to Carson.
Constance Huttman and Bethany Millen stepped up to the plate in a big way. Huttman scored two runs while going 4-for-4, while Millen went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Sienna Navarro, who went 1-for-2 with a stolen base and a double.
Even though they lost, Willows was hitting in the alleys and finished the game with six doubles. That's the most doubles they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but Live Oak had to settle for an 11-10 defeat against Durham on Wednesday. Live Oak has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Willows' record now sits at 14-11-1. As for Live Oak, their record now sits at 12-8.
