Baseball Recap: Bel Air Comes Up Short

Bel Air was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 8-3 to the Del Valle Conquistadores. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Conquistadores this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-7 last Tuesday.

Alex Rodriguez put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Rodriguez wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Julian Ponce, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Bel Air's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10-1. As for Del Valle, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bel Air is set to square off against their familiar foe El Dorado at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Del Valle will challenge rival Horizon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
