Cabot is 9-1 against Bryant since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will square off against the Hornets at 5:00 p.m. Cabot is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 18 games.
Cabot is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arkansas' top teams: Central, who was ranked sixth at the time (Cabot was ranked second). The Panthers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Tigers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since September 16th.
Cabot got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-14, 24-26, 32-34, 15-5.
Meanwhile, Bryant got the win against Little Rock Southwest on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Bryant was: they took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-8, 25-14.
Cabot better keep an eye on Katelynn Farrell. She was instrumental in Bryant's win, getting six digs and three aces. That's the most aces Farrell has posted over her last 11 contests. Chanley Morrow also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Bryant was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They are 3-1 when they serve at least ten aces.
Cabot's record is now 25-1. As for Bryant, their record now sits at 8-13-3.
Cabot took their victory against Bryant in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
