Basketball Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 64-41 to the Milton-Union Bulldogs. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Milton-Union's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Wyatt Kimmel led the charge by going 8 for 13 on his way to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Brumbaugh, who posted 11 points and six assists.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Milton-Union, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9.

Riverside and Milton-Union could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Riverside will take on Bethel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 422 places (684 vs. 262). Meanwhile, Milton-Union (ranked 737th) will meet Lehman Catholic (ranked 186th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
