Soccer Game Preview: Greer vs. Daniel

The Greer Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to challenge the Daniel Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Friday just wasn't the day for Greer's offense. They lost 4-0 to Greenville H on Friday. While losing is never fun, Greer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Greenville H are ranked 23rd).

Meanwhile, Daniel entered their contest against Eastside on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Lions fell 2-0 to the Eagles. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Daniel haven't been shut out since back in March.

Greer's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3. As for Daniel, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3-1.

Greer might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Daniel in their previous matchup back in May of 2019. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
