Preview: JAG Jaguars vs. Pike Road Patriots
JAG is 3-0 against Pike Road since November of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The JAG Jaguars will be playing at home against the Pike Road Patriots at 7:00 p.m. JAG will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive.
Last Tuesday, JAG faced Enterprise in a battle between two of the state's top teams. JAG walked away with a 53-43 victory over Enterprise.
It was another big night for JaMicah Adair, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Adair is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ladarius Givan, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pike Road's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 57-45 defeat to Russell County. While losing is never fun, Pike Road can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Russell County is ranked 71st).
JAG's win bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Pike Road, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
JAG beat Pike Road 52-39 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Does JAG have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pike Road turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
