The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Cardinals on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won three in a row.

Gilbert's victory bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Newton, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-23.
