Baseball Recap: Chaparral Snags Seventh Win in Last Nine Games

After losing to University the last time they met, Chaparral decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Chaparral came out on top against University by a score of 5-2 on Tuesday.

Aiden Hurst made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Rene Pagan was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Caden Morrow was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Chaparral is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. With the defeat, University broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-6.

Chaparral will have a chance to go back-to-back against University: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
