Basketball Recap: Etowah Snags Ninth Victory in Last 11 Games

With a playoff win on the line, Etowah rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They walked away with a 61-53 win over the Valdosta Wildcats. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Wildcats are ranked 73rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Etowah has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. As for Valdosta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-11.

Coming up, Etowah will square off against Buford on Saturday. Buford will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something Etowah surely won't give up without a fight. Valdosta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
