Basketball Game Preview: Kickapoo Panthers vs. Weston Silver Eagles

Kickapoo has gone a perfect 10-0 against Weston recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Panthers will face off against the Silver Eagles. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kickapoo has 13 straight victories, Weston has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Kickapoo and De Soto had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Panthers came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 62-52 on Tuesday. Give the Panthers' offense some serious credit: that high-scoring performance was actually the fewest points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 88-51, which was the final score in Weston's tilt against Seneca on Tuesday.

Weston's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Kickapoo, their win bumped their record up to 13-0.

Kickapoo was able to grind out a solid victory over Weston when the teams last played back in January of 2025, winning 64-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
