Baseball Recap: Mission Heights Prep Find Success

The Mission Heights Prep Phantoms had just enough and edged out the Maricopa Institute of Technology Iron Eagles 5-4 on Thursday.

Aidan Muraira looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cameron Mata, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played. Jacob Kemp was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Mission Heights Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Mission Heights Prep's victory bumped their record up to 9-4-2. As for Maricopa Institute of Technology, they now have a losing record of 4-5-2.

As of now, neither Mission Heights Prep nor the Iron Eagles have any future games scheduled.
