Baseball Recap: Cooper Comes Up Short

Cooper was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Memorial Mavericks. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, with their most recent loss being a 8-0 defeat last Tuesday.

Cooper's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cooper will challenge Copperas Cove at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Memorial, they will welcome Benbrook at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Benbrook will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Memorial surely won't give up without a fight.
