After a string of nine wins, South Eugene's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Salem Saxons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Axe of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

South Eugene's loss dropped their record down to 18-2. As for South Salem, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-7-1 record this season.

South Eugene will host South Medford at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Salem, they have already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Sheldon on the 18th.
