Softball Recap: St. Catherine's Beats Nottoway for Their Eighth Straight Win

St. Catherine waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Nottoway Cougars. That's two games straight that the Saints have won by exactly six runs.

Izzy Viruet was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Keira Frazier was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Viruet wasn't the only one working in the hit department: St. Catherine's kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

St. Catherine's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Nottoway, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, St. Catherine's will head out on the road to face off against Christchurch School at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nottoway, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Amelia County at 7:00 p.m. on the 8th. The game will give the Cougars their first taste of in-conference action this season.
