The biggest upset of the week belonged to Valencia, who took down 37th ranked Hart, 31-20. Sean Murphy threw for 210 yards and ran for 64 yards in the win.
Saugus moved up to 481 from 515 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Foothill. The Centurions were able to make move up by besting Golden Valley 48-6.
Canyon's dynamic duo of Cade Apsay and Drew Wolitarsky proved tough for West Ranch to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Apsay threw for 257 yards and four touchdowns and Wolitarsky had 125 yards receiving. Zach Cuha helped Canyon's passing attack out by catching four balls for 71 yards.
Austin Davenport made the biggest impact on defense this week as Saugus beat the Grizzlies. The 6-foot-3 junior pulled down one interception, recorded one fumble and grabbed one sack.
Mark Collins was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 172 yards on 14 carries as the Wildcats bested the Wildcats. Zahr Lyttle also contributed to the rushing game with 53 yards on the ground.
Canyon's Apsay and Wolitarsky have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Apsay has thrown for 2799 yards this season, while Wolitarsky, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 69 catches for 1019 yards. West Ranch's Collins leads the league in rushing yards with 982.
The top two teams in Foothill will face off this week when first place Hart takes on second place Canyon. The Indians lost to the Vikings last week, while Rich Gutierrez's team bested Sean O'Brien's team.
The Wildcats' Collins is a mere 18 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
