Volleyball Game Preview: Granite Hills Cougars vs. Silverado Hawks + Official Tickets

The Granite Hills Cougars will challenge the Silverado Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Granite Hills has nine straight wins, Silverado has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Granite Hills will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Barstow, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cougars put the hurt on the Aztecs with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

While Granite Hills won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-12, 25-23.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Silverado and Victor Valley had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Hawks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jackrabbits on Tuesday.

While Silverado ultimately came up short, they really made Victor Valley work, particularly in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-17, 24-26, 25-6, 26-24.

Silverado's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Granite Hills, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.

Granite Hills took their victory against Silverado in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
