Basketball Recap: Suzanne Reardon and Anne Howard Secure Win for Waterford

Waterford's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the American Leadership Academy Eagles by a score of 28-16. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 36-22 back in December of 2024.

Waterford was led to victory by Anne Howard and Suzanne Reardon. Howard posted eight points in addition to five boards and four steals, while Reardon scored four points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks. Howard is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.

Despite the loss, American Leadership Academy had strong showings from Jacklynn Huff, who put up seven points in addition to three steals and three blocks, and Abisai Sandoval, who had four points along with eight boards and four steals.

Waterford pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.7 points per game. As for American Leadership Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-6.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Waterford Ravens take on the Draper APA Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Draper APA is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.7 points per game this season. As for American Leadership Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Rowland Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. American Leadership Academy's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Rowland Hall's offense will have their work cut out for them.
