Basketball Recap: Newport - Bellevue Comes Up Short

After flying high against Renton last Saturday, Newport - Bellevue came back down to earth. The Newport - Bellevue Knights were dealt a 67-18 loss at the hands of the Lakeside Lions on Monday. The game marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Newport - Bellevue has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Lakeside, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newport - Bellevue will host Redmond at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Redmond knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Newport - Bellevue likes a good challenge. Lakeside has already played their next game (against Eastside Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
