Baseball Game Preview: Caldera vs. Mountain View Cougars

For the second straight game, Caldera will face off against Mountain View. Caldera will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Mountain View at 4:30 p.m.

Caldera took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Mountain View, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Caldera skirted past Mountain View 5-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for Caldera as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Griffin Sanchez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Carson Downing was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Brody Whitcomb was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Caldera's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Mountain View, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.
