Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant Tigers vs. Loretto Mustangs

Mt. Pleasant is 1-9 against Loretto since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Mt. Pleasant Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Loretto Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Mt. Pleasant has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

On Friday, Mt. Pleasant needed a bit of extra time to put away Summertown. They secured a 63-57 W over the Eagles.

Mt. Pleasant's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jakyri McClure, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Ryan Benderman, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Loretto put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Lewis County as Loretto made off with a 56-33 win. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 games by 22 points or more this season.

Mt. Pleasant's record is now 17-7. As for Loretto, their record now sits at 27-0.

Mt. Pleasant came up short against Loretto when the teams last played back in January, falling 36-32. Can Mt. Pleasant avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
