High school baseball: Oklahoma's Roff holds longest active win streak

White River Valley sits second on list and has never lost a game.

One of the top small town high school baseball programs in the country owns the longest active win streak in the nation, and right on its heels is a team that has never lost a game — ever.

Roff, which finished 33-0 last year and won the Oklahoma Class B state championship, has won 43 games in a row dating back to the 2019 season. The Tigers won the Class B championship that year as well, closing out the season with six straight wins. Roff also went 4-0 in the COVID-shortened 2020 season.

The Tigers, who also won the Fall 2021 baseball Class B championship with a 28-6 record, have a new coach this year in Danny Balderidge. Departing coach Ead Simon stepped down after winning 1,120 games in 23 years.

Close behind Roff with 35 wins, however, is White River Valley (Royalton, Vt.), which has won 35 straight games and never suffered a defeat in school history. White River Valley had its first senior class in 2019 and is a consolidation of schools from seven small towns in Vermont. The Wildcats went 18-0 in their inaugural season, didn't play in 2020, and then posted a 17-0 record in 2021.

Also on the list are 12-time Idaho state champion Nampa Christian with 29 in a row. Silo (Okla.) is tied with Nampa Christian and is led by Billy Jack Bowen — the winningest coach in high school baseball history with 2,161 wins in the fall and spring seasons combined. Farther down the list is St. Mary's Prep (Orchard Lake, Mich.) with 22 straight wins. The Eaglets begin the season at No. 1 in the MaxPreps Top 25 baseball rankings.
