Softball Recap: Olympia Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Horizon, Olympia was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Evans Trojans a 17-0 shutout. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Makenna Rossi made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Olympia let Gracie Lentine and Sasha Do run wild. Lentine went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Do scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs Do has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jemila Weeks, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Olympia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Olympia's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-11. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Evans, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Olympia will venture away from home to face off against East Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Evans, they will head out to challenge Colonial at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
