Softball Recap: Hanahan Takes a Loss

If Hanahan was feeling good fresh off their 13-4 takedown of Beaufort last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hanahan Hawks fell just short of the West Ashley Wildcats by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Hanahan's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-4. As for West Ashley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hanahan will head out to face off against Orangeburg-Wilkinson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Ashley, they will take on Stratford at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Ashley's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Stratford's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
