Football Recap: Oroville Tigers vs. Lindhurst Blazers
Oroville kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 36-6 defeat at the hands of the Lindhurst Blazers. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured 11 losses in a row dating back to last season.
Even if they lost, Oroville's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Michael Moore and his two. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up two sacks and making three total tackles.
Guillermo Raya was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 106 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another big playmaker for Lindhurst was Henri Reed, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
The win got Lindhurst back to even at 1-1.
Oroville will head out to square off against Central Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Oroville focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday. As for Lindhurst, they will venture away from home to face off against Dixon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
