Basketball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Johnstown Christian last Monday, Calvary Christian Academy came back down to earth. Calvary Christian Academy took a blow against the Heritage Academy Eagles on Tuesday, falling 92-50. Calvary Christian Academy has struggled against Heritage Academy recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Calvary Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Canyon Michael, who posted 19 points and eight boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023. Brady Morgan was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Even though they lost, Calvary Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Calvary Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Heritage Academy, they pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Calvary Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-43 win against Grace Academy on the 10th. As for Heritage Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-56 victory against Shalom Christian Academy on the 7th.
