Basketball Recap: Mangham Comes Up Short

Mangham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 84-17 loss at the hands of the Bastrop Rams. The game marked the Dragons' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Bastrop had a senior duo take command as Lebron Deal dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten assists and Antron Mason II shot 5-for-7 from long range and dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten assists. Mason II is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Adameyon Moore was another key player, going 6 of 8 en route to 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Mangham's loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Bastrop, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Mangham will take on Caldwell Parish at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bastrop, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sterlington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bastrop's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 games.
