Softball Recap: Pecos Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Eagles on Saturday. Pecos fell just short of Canyon by a score of 14-12. The loss continues a trend for Pecos in their matchups with Canyon: they've now lost three in a row.

Audri Morales was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of P Rayos, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Even though they lost, Pecos kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Pecos' defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Pecos will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Franklin at 12:20 p.m. on February 28th. As for Canyon, they will challenge Lubbock at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
