Incline is 0-10 against Yerington since April of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Highlanders will be playing at home against the Lions at 10:00 a.m. Incline is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Ten must be Incline's lucky number: they beat Battle Mountain with that score not once but twice last Saturday. The Highlanders beat the Longhorns by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Highlanders.

Zach Harrell and Reeve Denton were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Harrell pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Denton struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. At the plate, Harrell scored a run while going 1-for-4, while Denton scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave Denton a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tate Gitchell, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Andrew Bodel was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Yerington faced Oasis Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Lions came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bighorns, sneaking past 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted against the Bighorns since April 2, 2024.
Colby Rowe was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kyson Shramek, who scored two runs and stole two bases.
Yerington has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Incline, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Incline has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Yerington struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Incline came up short against Yerington in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 6-3. Will the Highlanders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
