Athens has gone 6-0 against Van recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Athens Hornets will venture away from home to square off against the Van Vandals at 7:15 p.m. Athens will be strutting in after a victory while Van will be coming in after a loss.

Athens took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Chapel Hill.

Meanwhile, Van lost 14-1 to Brownsboro on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Vandals in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost four in a row.

Athens' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those three matches. As for Van, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4-1.

Athens took their win against Van in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Athens since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
