Volleyball Game Preview: Tates Creek Commodores vs. Lafayette Generals

The Tates Creek Commodores will head out on the road to challenge the Lafayette Generals at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lafayette took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Tates Creek, who comes in off a win.

Tates Creek is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Kentucky's top teams: Bryan Station, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Tates Creek was ranked 13th). Tates Creek blew past Bryan Station 3-0 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Lafayette entered their game against Columbus East on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Lafayette took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Columbus East. The Generals' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Lafayette was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-22.

Lafayette's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Tates Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Tates Creek couldn't quite get it done against Lafayette in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can Tates Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
