Baseball Recap: Marathon Wins Going Away Against Glades Day

On Monday, everything went the Marathon Dolphins's way against the Glades Day Gators as the Marathon Dolphins made off with a 13-2 win. The Dolphins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 11 runs or more this season.

Dylan Williams made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Bryan Broche was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Leo Mendez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Marathon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Marathon now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Glades Day, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Marathon will venture away from home to challenge Riviera Prep at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Riviera Prep has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.25 runs per game on average), something Marathon will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Glades Day, they will welcome Pahokee at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
