Recap: Hernando Leopards vs. Crystal River Pirates
The Hernando Leopards scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Crystal River at home to the tune of 63-32. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hernando.
Josiah Wright was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with three steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Rivera, who scored 15 points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Crystal River lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zachary Hamilton. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for him. Ej Jenkins was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Hernando's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Crystal River, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hernando will be home for the holidays to greet Springstead at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Springstead is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.9 points per game. Crystal River won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tavares at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th.
