Volleyball Game Preview: Payson Lions vs. Spanish Fork Dons

Payson is 0-10 against Spanish Fork since October of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Lions will welcome the Dons at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Payson came up short against Crimson Cliffs and fell 3-1.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Crimson Cliffs scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-17, 19-25, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Spanish Fork faced Maple Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Dons fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 3-2.

Spanish Fork wouldn't go down easily and took Maple Mountain into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23, 22-25, 21-25, 15-9.

Payson's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Spanish Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.
