It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Trenton had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Riverview Pirates with a sharp 8-1 victory. Considering the Trojans have won 15 matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Henrik Parish, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Boike, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Trenton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverview only posted a batting average of .269.
The win (which was Trenton's ninth in a row) raised their record to 30-9. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Riverview, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-29.
As of now, neither Trenton nor the Pirates have any future games scheduled.
