Baseball Game Preview: Hundred Hornets vs. Cameron Dragons

Hundred is 0-8 against Cameron since April of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Hornets will host the Dragons at 5:00 p.m. Hundred will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Hundred took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Paden City, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hornets won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 14-13.

Meanwhile, Cameron suffered their closest loss since March 24th on Saturday. They fell just short of East Hardy by a score of 8-6. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zayde Long was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and two RBI. He has become a key player for Cameron: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-8 otherwise.

Hundred's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Cameron, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.

Hundred might still be hurting after the 16-3 loss they got from Cameron in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
