Baseball Recap: Coastal Academy Takes a Loss

If Coastal Academy was riding high fresh off their 12-4 takedown of Crawford last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Stingrays fell 8-5 to the Lincoln Hornets on Thursday. The Stingrays were not able to make up for their loss to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Coastal Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Micah Dietze, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his two plate appearances.

Coastal Academy has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Lincoln, they pushed their record up to 7-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coastal Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-6 victory against Orange Glen on the 9th. As for Lincoln, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-6 defeat against Castle Park on the 7th.
