Civic Memorial had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 7-8 to make it four. They fell just short of the Marquette Catholic Explorers by a score of 7-6. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Explorers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Civic Memorial got a good showing from Brayden Prott, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave Prott a new career-low.

On the hitting side, Chase Butler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Dane Godar, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
