Basketball Recap: Q Young and a Wilson Secure Win for Bridges Prep

On Friday, the Bridges Prep Buccaneers earned a 73-62 win over the Barnwell Warhorses. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buccaneers.

Leading Bridges Prep to victory were A Wilson and Q Young. Wilson dropped a double-double on 28 points and 17 boards, while Young dropped a triple-double on 27 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists. Wilson has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more boards the last 18 times he's played. Another player making a difference was PJ Capers, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Bridges Prep is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points per game. As for Barnwell, they dropped their record down to 0-11 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bridges Prep will face off against Edisto at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bridges Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Edisto likes a good challenge. As for Barnwell, they will take on Hampton County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hampton County will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Barnwell surely won't give up without a fight.
