Soccer Game Preview: Saluda vs. Batesburg-Leesville

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Saluda face off against Batesburg-Leesville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Saluda's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Strom Thurmond by a score of 2-0. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Saluda as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Batesburg-Leesville got their first taste of in-conference action on Friday and they started things off strong. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Batesburg-Leesville who was credited with the win. They haven't had any issues with Pelion recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Batesburg-Leesville's one-goal win came courtesy of Myah Hernandez, which was the first she's scored this season.

Saluda's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Batesburg-Leesville, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8-1.

Saluda came out on top in a nail-biter against Batesburg-Leesville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Saluda since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
