Soccer Preview: Evanston Meets Taft

The Evanston Wildkits will face off against the Taft Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Taft is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season.

Evanston is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a 2-1 win against New Trier. The victory was nothing new for Evanston as they're now sitting on three straight.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Taft duked it out with Maine South on Friday. The Eagles snuck past the Hawks with a 2-1 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Taft's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Maine South are ranked 53rd).
